Buy Mobiles Online, Buy Mobiles Online in India

The Battle of the Voice Assistants

OK, Google, did you thump the intelligent Cortana and the witty Siri? The concept of artificial intelligence has been around for a few decades now. Hollywood immediately latched on to the idea, giving us a taste of what the future holds with the 1982 blockbuster Blade Runner. Of course, things have turned out to be vastly different; humans have not yet been conquered by the evil Cyborg-like sergeants… yet! In fact, the idea today has seen the birth of the personal digital voice assistants, which has been widely integrated into smartphones. And if you own one, you would know how handy they can be. The Academy Award winning 2013 movie Hergives you a glimpse of what they are capable of. All the more reason to get one for yourself, and speaking of intelligence, you can even buy these mobiles online in India.

The Top Contenders

Back in 2011, when Apple Inc initiated the launch of the iPhone 4S, they did not focus on the high standard security or the crystal clear camera; they chalked out a huge portion of their budget to highlight their brand new voice assistant. And that is how Siri became an overnight sensation!

In the three years that has followed, Siri grew but so did others. All the other major platforms introduced their own versions of the voice assistant. ‘Google Now’ sits at the heart of Android technology; Microsoft Corporation hasput through the very animated ‘Cortana’ and Samsung has tried its luck with the S Voice. With catchy phrases like “Hey Cortana” and “Ok Google” triggering the intelligent digital assistance, these products have seen some sky rocketing sales figures, popularizing the trend of buying mobiles online in India as well.

What the Experts have to Say

In a study reported by NBC News on October 9, 2014, there seems to be a clear winner. A series of around 3,086 queries were put forth to each of the program, by a technical team from the Massachusetts-based Stone Temple Consulting. Google Now was seen to give definitive answers to almost 88% of the questions, compared to 53% by Siri and 40% by Cortana. What we also need to realise before we raise our credit cards is that the study did not include features like event calendars, reminders ordriving directions, so the overall winner is still an impending announcement. However, while looking to buy mobiles online, if you want a phone that gives you definite answers to questions like “Who won the most Academy Awards?”, then maybe Android can feature in your shopping cart.
